Password Generator tool

About this tool

A password generator creates random passwords from the character groups and length you choose. Set a length from 4 to 128, then include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, symbols, or any combination. An optional filter removes look-alike characters such as lowercase l, digit 1, uppercase O, and digit 0.

Passwords are produced inside your browser with crypto.getRandomValues, never uploaded, and never stored after the tab closes. Every generated password contains at least one character from each selected group, rather than merely drawing from a combined pool. The entropy display reports estimated strength in bits based on the active choices and length.

How to use the Password Generator

  1. 1Set a password length between four and one hundred twenty-eight.
  2. 2Select every letter, number, or symbol group you want included.
  3. 3Exclude look-alike characters when visual distinction matters for entry.
  4. 4Generate a password and review its estimated entropy in bits.
  5. 5Copy the value directly into the account or password manager.

Features

Length from 4–128

Choose a short temporary value or a much longer password within the stated range.

Guaranteed group coverage

Include at least one character from every uppercase, lowercase, digit, or symbol set selected.

Look-alike exclusion

Remove easily confused characters such as l, 1, O, and 0 from generation.

Entropy strength display

See a bit estimate based on password length and the available character pool.

Cryptographic random source

Generate choices with crypto.getRandomValues rather than a predictable basic random function.

Frequently asked questions

How long can a generated password be?

The allowed range is 4 to 128 characters. Longer values generally provide more possible combinations when the same character sets are used.

Will every selected character type appear?

Yes. Each result is guaranteed to contain at least one character from every group you enabled.

How is password entropy measured here?

The page estimates bits of entropy from the chosen length and character pool. It is a strength indicator, not a check against leaked-password databases.

Which confusing characters can I avoid?

Use the look-alike option to exclude characters that are commonly mistaken for one another, including l, 1, O, and 0.

Are generated passwords uploaded or saved?

No. They are created on your device with crypto.getRandomValues and disappear from the page when the tab closes.
