Rotate Image tool

About this tool

Rotate and Flip Image applies one shared transform to a group of JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, or AVIF inputs. Rotate left, rotate right, turn 180 degrees, mirror horizontally, or flip vertically while watching a live preview of the first image. Reset returns every transform control to its original position.

The browser opens each image with its EXIF orientation applied before drawing the final pixels. Quarter turns swap output width and height correctly, and GIF input uses its first frame. Choose the source format where browser encoding permits it, or explicitly create JPG, PNG, or WebP with a quality setting for JPG and WebP.

How to use the Rotate Image

  1. 1Add the images that should receive the same rotation and flips.
  2. 2Use the labeled transform buttons while checking the first-image preview.
  3. 3Reset the transform if you want to return to the untouched direction.
  4. 4Choose Same as input, JPG, PNG, or WebP output and set quality.
  5. 5Apply the transform to the batch and download files or rotated-images.zip.

Features

Five transform actions

Rotate in either direction, turn halfway around, or mirror across either image axis.

First-image live preview

See the current combination through a fast visual transform before rendering full-resolution files.

Orientation-aware decoding

Apply embedded camera orientation while opening each image so exported pixels begin upright.

Correct quarter-turn sizing

Exchange width and height for 90-degree and 270-degree output without clipping edges.

Shared batch transform

Render every selected image with the identical rotation, flip, format, and quality choices.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rotate several images by the same amount?

Yes. Add the batch, set one combination of rotations and flips, then apply it to every listed image.

What happens to an animated GIF?

The browser decodes and rotates the first frame as a still image. Animation is not preserved in the rendered result.

Why do width and height switch after rotating right?

A quarter turn changes the canvas from landscape to portrait or the reverse, so the output dimensions exchange places.

Does Same as input always preserve every original format?

JPG, PNG, and WebP can keep their format. Inputs the browser cannot encode directly are rendered as PNG output.

Are full-resolution images uploaded for rotation?

No. Preview transforms and final canvas rendering happen on your device, followed by local individual or ZIP downloads.
