Video to MP3 tool

About this tool

Video to MP3 extracts the soundtrack from a local video and saves it as a separate audio file. MP3 output offers 128, 192, 256, and 320 kbps choices. M4A can copy an existing AAC track without another lossy encode, while other source audio is converted to AAC at 192 kbps. WAV creates uncompressed 16-bit PCM audio.

Extraction uses FFmpeg WebAssembly entirely inside the browser and never sends the recording to the site. The page inspects supported containers for an audio stream and displays a clear message when none is present. A result player lets you listen before downloading, and the output uses the source base name with the selected audio extension.

How to use the Video to MP3

  1. 1Select the video whose soundtrack you need as audio.
  2. 2Choose MP3, M4A, or WAV as the output format.
  3. 3Pick an MP3 bitrate when compressed MP3 output is selected.
  4. 4Start extraction and wait for local FFmpeg processing to finish.
  5. 5Listen to the audio result and download the finished track.

Features

Four MP3 bitrates

Select 128, 192, 256, or 320 kbps according to the desired size and quality.

Direct AAC preservation

Copy a detected AAC soundtrack into M4A without adding another lossy conversion generation.

Uncompressed WAV choice

Export signed 16-bit PCM audio when compatibility or further editing matters more than file size.

Missing-track warning

Stop before conversion and explain plainly when a supported video contains no audio stream.

Playable extraction result

Review the generated soundtrack in an audio player before saving the download to your device.

Frequently asked questions

Which MP3 bitrate should I select for a video soundtrack?

The default 192 kbps is a practical balance for music and spoken audio. Choose 128 kbps for a smaller file, or 256 and 320 kbps when a larger file is acceptable and the source quality supports it.

When does M4A extraction avoid re-encoding?

If the supported video container identifies its audio as AAC, the tool copies that track directly into M4A. Other detected audio is encoded as AAC at 192 kbps so it can be stored in the M4A file.

Why is the WAV download much larger than MP3?

WAV output uses uncompressed 16-bit PCM samples. MP3 removes audio information through lossy compression, which makes the file substantially smaller but changes the encoded signal.

What happens when the selected video is silent?

When the container inspection confirms there is no audio stream, the page shows the message that the video has no audio track and disables the conversion button.

Does extracting audio send the video anywhere?

No. The browser reads the video, runs the WebAssembly media engine, presents the generated audio, and creates the download without transferring the source file to a server.
